The Kennedy Street-Brightwood Georgia Avenue

Small Business Technical Assistance Program

Funded with a grant provide by the Department of Small and Local Business Development (DSLBD) we assist you, the business, with the improvement and growth of your business. With your help we are here to bring prosperity to your business located in the Brightwood Community.

Our objectives are to facilitate the promotion of your business, increase foot traffic to your business and ultimately generate increases in your revenue and overall bottom line.

Some of you have already completed Phase I of the program, the Business Needs Assessment (BNA) form. This form is designed to gather data that will help us understand how you currently market your business and identify problems you have observed or experienced in the commercial corridor. In addition, the form will indicate the type of assistance you will need to improve your business's sustainability. While our focuses are in the areas of marketing, financial management, visual display, storefront improvement we are aware that there may be other areas of interest.

In Phase II of the program you will meet with an Expert Consultant who will, with your assistance, conduct a detailed analysis on the health of your business, and prepare a business situation assessment. This assessment will include strategies for implementing efficient and effective business processes and presentations to meet established short and long term goals.

In Phase III, Experts in the areas you have chosen to change or improve will help you develop strategies that will make the best use of opportunities for physically enhancing and financially improving your business.

To help boost this major effort, the EBOL will promote several Promotional Activities to help increase foot traffic to your business. Details of these activities will be shared with you, as we together, participate in this community development process.
