The BCT has
overcome a variety of challenges since starting up in late 2007.
Their positive response has enabled them not only to brighten their
community but also to strengthen their own characters and
self-esteem. The BCT’s dedication to service reinforces the
principle that each of us can make a positive contribution to the
communities where we live and work.
In partnership with the District of Columbia’s Deputy Mayor for
Planning and Economic Development Office, this program is emblematic
of the Beacon of Light’s creative efforts to bring the homeless to
wholeness and harmony.
